Watertown Daily Times, July 31, 2014—Author takes a look at bootlegging in the north country: Author Lawrence Gooley has been researching for his latest book about the north country, and has found barrels full of information about the area’s wild and lawless bootlegging during the Prohibition Era.
Award-winning author Lawrence P. Gooley will present “Prohibition in Chateaugay and Franklin County,” a PowerPoint presentation in which he will discuss North Country bootlegging, line houses, and other topics related to the Prohibition era.
Author Lawrence P. Gooley appears on the September 29, 2011, edition of Mountain Lake Journal EXTRA to discuss Prohibition and bootlegging in the North Country, especially line houses/stores along the US-Canada border.
