The Post-Star, November 9, 2015—Authors portray many aspects of history: “I had been researching Dannemora’s history, escapes, torture and its prisoners when those guys escaped,” said Gooley, author of Escape from Dannemora: 170 Years of Escapes, Tortures and Infamous Inmates at New York’s Most Notorious Prison, referring to Richard Matt and David Sweat, two convicts who escaped the maximum-security prison in June and were on the lam for more than three weeks.

S. William St., at 7 p.m. Fulton County Sheriff Thomas J. Lorey said the presentation will be given by author Lawrence P. Gooley. Gooley is known for writing several books including Terror in the Adirondacks: The True Story of Serial Killer Robert F. Garrow, which outlines an American spree killer who was active in New York in the early 1970s.
