The Recorder, September 11, 2014—Author will speak on area serial killer: The Fulton County Sheriff’s Association will offer a public review of the case of convicted Adirondack serial killer Robert Garrow Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Johnstown Eagles Club, 12. S. William St., at 7 p.m. Fulton County Sheriff Thomas J. Lorey said the presentation will be given by author Lawrence P. Gooley. Gooley is known for writing several books including Terror in the Adirondacks: The True Story of Serial Killer Robert F. Garrow, which outlines an American spree killer who was active in New York in the early 1970s.

Adirondack Almanack, August 11, 2014—Adirondack Authors Night Celebrating 30 Years: On Tuesday August 12th Hoss’s Country Corner in Long Lake will be hosting the 30th Annual Authors Night from 7 to 9 pm, the largest book event in the Adirondacks. Authors confirmed to appear include: Yvona Fast, Larry Gooley, Perky Granger, Carol Gregson, Kim Ladd, Pam Ladd, and Kathleen Larkin.
More than 30 award-winning authors and artists from the Adirondacks and northern New York will sign/sell their books and CDs under the tents in front of the store. Additionally, artists and authors will be placed at several “hot spots” throughout North Creek.
Award-winning author Lawrence P. Gooley will present “Prohibition in Chateaugay and Franklin County,” a PowerPoint presentation in which he will discuss North Country bootlegging, line houses, and other topics related to the Prohibition era.
